This urban retreat is only steps from our waterfront condos, a brief walk or bike ride away. The 10.3 mile trail loops around breathtaking downtown views, and the lake is home to a variety of wildlife including elegant swans and colorful ducks. It’s fit for every level of runner, biker, or walker, with convenient stops and entrances/exits along the way.
The Boardwalk Trail connects a 1-mile gap along the lake's south side. While crossing, take note of the cast bronze belts lining the boardwalk rails. This art installation, titled "Belting It Out," pays tribute to top Texas composers and vocalists. Looking closely, you'll see song lyrics inscribed upon each belt.
Another fun option is cruising the lake in a rental canoe, kayak, or stand-up paddle board. For an early start, Texas Rowing Center opens at 6am. Or glide across the lake on a water bike, pedaling a bicycle supported on two sturdy floats. Austin Water Bikes opens on Saturday at 10am.
